Dorcas Aid America
Dorcas is an international organization for relief and development. We strive for lasting change for those who live in poverty, are excluded, or are caught in a crisis. This is how we follow Jesus Christ.
On August 27, 2008 Dorcas established a 501(c)3 in New Jersey, named Dorcas Aid America (DAA). With our presence in the USA, Dorcas can attract new donors and engage in new partnerships to fund development projects.
Through their commitment, the board members of DAA can serve the most vulnerable people and their communities in many countries.
About Dorcas Aid America
Dorcas is active in Eastern Europe, Eastern Africa and the Middle East. Local colleagues lead our 14 country offices. We invest in resilient communities in which everyone can participate. We help over one million people annually. When a disaster or a crisis occurs, we provide humanitarian assistance and support communities to rebuild themselves. At the same time, we invest in structural solutions for poverty and social exclusion. In our work we are accountable, compassionate, determined and locally led.
Dorcas invests in resilient communities in which everyone can make their contribution. When a disaster or a crisis occurs, we provide assistance and we support communities to rebuild themselves. At the same time, we invest in structural remedies for poverty and social exclusion. We do this by encouraging entrepreneurship, self-reliance, and protection of people in vulnerable circumstances.
Activities
Dorcas Aid America has participated in several activities. Here are some activities of note:
- Establishing a support program for older people.
- Supporting a water, agriculture, sanitation and health development project in Romania.

Our partner: MissionInvest
With our partner MissionInvest we are looking for additional partnership opportunities in the USA. Wim Hasselman, Dorcas' MissionInvest consultant, works closely with foundations and donors to facilitate partnerships with Dorcas development projects. He is a strategic advisor for both parties and seeks to define a goal and work towards a mutually beneficial outcome. Mr. Hasselman works for Dorcas as an independent fundraiser to develop fund raising partnerships. Dorcas enjoys the value he brings through his broad network of reliable relations.
