Since March 2017 Dorcas launched its project under Ukraine Joint Response phase 3 in Consortium with Caritas, Save the Children and Terre’s des Hommes. The project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Nederland.

Under this project Dorcas aims to reach the following results:
1. 1476 individuals assisted with multipurpose cash in Donetsk buffer zone: Mariinka, Krasnohorivka, Volnovakha and raions further south;
2. 2100 individuals benefiting from food distributions to improve their immediate access to food in Luhansk NGCA/ Donetsk NGCA;
3. 1000 women, men, girls and boys supported through peace-building or social cohesion projects, and community-based protection in Donetsk buffer zone: Mariinka, Krasnohorivka, Volnovakha and raions further south.

First project stage launched: During April-July Dorcas social workers at a newly opened office in Kurakhovo (Donetsk region, GCA) carried out the needs assessment of the needy. At the moment home visits take place and documents of the potential beneficiaries are being collected. In August the data will be processed and the list of the most needy will be ready for the first transfer. People will be able to buy food, wood/coal, cloth, NFI, medicines and other life-saving items.
