Until three years ago, Halima often dreamt of having her own company but she needed some money to get things started. Without money, bringing her dream into realization was impossible.
The life of this sixty year old Tanzanian lady is different now and Halima proudly shows what she has accomplished since she joined a Dorcas self-help group. Like others in her group, Halima received a micro-credit. She used it to start her farm. She now has land for her vegetables and a cow that will give birth to a calf soon.
It is difficult for people in the area to earn income. The drought negatively affects harvests and farmers often lack knowledge about farming and selling their crops. Halima is one of hundreds of people who, thanks to this project, can dream again and have hope for the future.
