Institutional Relations Manager
(Almere, 28-32 hours per week)
Purpose of the role
Our Partnerships team has a crucial role in creating sustainable impact and opportunities that make a difference in the lives of those in need. Together with 8 experts, of which 3 work in a similar role, you initiate and manage successful partnerships and relationships with institutional donors. You identify and create funding opportunities and work together with colleagues in our country offices. What makes this position particularly interesting is that you partner with country directors in Eastern Europe or Africa and provide tailor-made advice on strategic positioning and (inter)national funding. One of the country directors you work with is Ilya from Albania.
In this exciting role you are responsible for:
- Excellent donor relationship management that ensures funding is secured and donor expectations are exceeded.
- Advising our country directors on trends and opportunities in (institutional) funding, collaborations, and on strategic and annual plans. You actively work together with one of the Strategic Programme Advisor who advises the country directors on programme content.
- Advising and facilitating the country offices in identifying and raising local (institutional) funds and initiating local partnerships. Together you work towards improved visibility.
- Developing and managing innovative and sustainable partnerships involving the private sector, NGO’s, governments, and investors as partners in projects.
Your profile

- Have excellent networking and donorrelationship management skills, take initiative and are solutions oriented.
- Are experienced designing and coordinating winning institutional donor proposalsinvolving various actors.
- Have strong analytical skills, are able to connect concepts and practice and have excellent command of English.
- Have a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree and multi-year experience working with institutional donors.
