Finance Manager (Mozambique)

In Mozambique, Dorcas has been operating for over 20 years. Our programs in Mozambique focus on entrepreneurial WASH, innovative solutions on access to clean water, sustainable agriculture, business development,social inclusion and protection against vulnerability and relief response assistance. From our country office in Maputo, we manage programs in Sofala, Manica and Cabo Delgado provinces. Our programs are a mix of self-implementation and implementation via partners. We manage both relief and long-term development programs, and are building our expertise in Nexus by linking relief, rehabilitation and development. Currently we are recruiting an experienced and ambitious:

 

Finance Manager

Posting: Maputo, Mozambique

Open to nationals only

Employment: 1.0 FTE

Duration: 1 year with possible renewal of contract

 

Purpose of the position:

The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall financial administration of the Country Office (CO) including projects implemented by partners and self-implemented projects. This includes the Country Office administration and all projects administration. The Financial Manager can be leading more projects accountants in case of self-implemented projects. The Financial Manager is accountable to the Country Director.

 

Main result areas and objectives:

  1. Responsible for the financial administration
  2. Budgeting and reporting
  3. Monitoring and auditing the Partners’ project accounts
  4. Leading the financial team
  5. Participate in different tasks and taskforces
  6. Partner capacity building
  7. Support resource mobilisation
  8. Financial tools development

 

Communication:

Internal contacts:   Country director, Operations Team, Programmes Team (project managers, officers and experts) financial officers, accountants.

External contacts:  Governmental institutions, Banks, treasurer department, donors, partners, audit firms and suppliers.

 

Job requirements:

  • Knowledge/experience:
  • BSc degree in financial management;
  • Experience in the NGO sector and/or experience with financial monitoring of multiple simultaneous projects;
  • Accounting certification
  • Partner management expertise
  • Capacity building knowledge

 

Required competences/skills:

  • Good command of English (written and verbally);
  • Excellent Excel skills;
  • Communication and leadership skills;
  • Planning and time management skills.
  • Result oriented
  • Ability to work in teams
  • Strategic and analytical thinking orientation

 

We offer:

Dorcas offers the opportunity to become part of a growing International NGO with a dedicated team of professionals. Dorcas offers a suitable pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. Furthermore, you will be offered an initial 12 month contract. Depending on continued funding, your performance and fit with the organisation and staff, the contract will be extended.
